The cross-country and snowshoe rental shop is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in favorable weather. We look forward to seeing you!

Snowmobiles
The first snow scooters (Finnish: ketkupolkka) began to appear in Finland and Sweden in the first half of the 19th century.
It was a simple construction consisting of two sliding surfaces, with ends serving as a footrest for the standing leg. The design allowed for a grip at waist height, and the rider would push off with the trailing leg in the space between the sliding surfaces.
Snow Scooter Price List
The starting point for the descent is at the rental station opposite the upper cable car station and descends 5.8 km along the “Knížecí cesta” to the lower cable car station, where you return the snow scooter. One ride takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes, and the time limit for the descent is 1 hour.

At the turn of 19. At the turn of the 20th century, the Finnish army began providing snowscoots to soldiers as a more efficient alternative means of transportation during leave. Today, this traditional mode of transport is mainly used by elderly people and children.
The basic design of snow scooters remained unchanged throughout the 20th century. The first step towards modernization was taken in 1985 by a twenty-year-old medical student and orienteering runner, Hannu Vierikko, who sought new training methods and tools to improve physical fitness, particularly speed endurance. His experimentation included the traditional snow scooter, which he modified in various ways. In 1991, wood was replaced with steel and aluminum, and these machines are still in use today.
